Q. "I want to attend the Rubber Band's induction into the IRRMA Hall of Fame at Lake Okoboji on Labor Day weekend (Sept. 3-5, 2010.) How do I get tickets and where do I stay?"
A. I've been hearing that question a lot lately, so I decided to go directly to Doris Welle, the Executive Administrator of IRRMA, for details. And this is what she told me:

Tickets can be ordered from the website (Iowarocknroll.com) after June 15. The tickets are for the awards ceremony and concert. Most of the events of both Saturday and Sunday are free admission. The Pancake Breakfast on Saturday morning is a benefit for the Boy Scouts and the Omelet Brunch on Sunday morning is a benefit for our museum. Those require purchasing tickets at the door. Arrowwood Resort and Village West are the only two of the many, many we have that offer special rates for IRRMA for that weekend. Be sure they tell the registrar that they are with the Iowa RockNRoll Hall of Fame Induction. I don't know how many of those blocks of rooms are left. I know the entire Blue Lake Resort has been taken over by the Rising Suns and their entourage from Kansas. I would recommend that you all have your reservations made by Memorial Day or the first week in June. There are activities all day and evening on Saturday and Sunday. Awards ceremony and concert begins at 5 p.m. and ends at midnight on Sunday. Your fans and supporters can log onto vacationokoboji.com and click on the hotels and motels to get complete listings of all the places around the lakes or call the Chamber office at 1-800-270-2574 and they will mail out the Vacation Okoboji magazine with everything in it from dining to lodging to boat ramps, camping parks, etc. They do not charge for this service.

A. No. Children 5 years and younger will be admitted free.

A. The concert & awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2010 from 5 p.m. until midnight in the Roof Garden at Arnolds Park in Arnolds Park, Iowa. It will be held indoors.
